Roger Federer gets brutally trolled for his ‘arrogance’ about his ‘GOAT’ stature
Back in 2009, Roger Federer was asked how he felt about being called the greatest player of all time after winning his 14th Grand Slam title. In his honest response, Roger Federer said, “I mean, obviously, it feels nice, I mean, I have always been very to be called one of the greatest of all time, you know, just because I have so many Grand Slams and so many dominant seasons. You know, it’s hard to do to stay healthy, to keep the drive and everything; it’s just great to be up there I might be the greatest of all time, we don’t know.”
He added, “But I have many things going for me because I have finally won all four Grand Slams and I’m happy to reaching to Pete’s 14 and I’m sure he’s watching so ‘Hi, Pete!’” Taking note of his past comments about his ‘GOAT’ status, a Djokovic fan page recently tweeted, “He genuinely thought he was going to be the GOAT didn’t he? Bless him, I do feel for him a little and can understand his actions and behaviours against Djokovic now.”
In the comment section, other fans were quick to react as they called Federer out for his ‘boastful comments’ while comparing him to his former Serbian colleague. One user commented, “Novak was asked that same question last year and he couldn’t have been more humble and said he would never use that term for his career. Totally opposite of Feds boastful comments. Says a lot…”
