WTA star Eugenie Bouchard shut down the controversy of getting over with tennis with her recent career update. While this WTA player took part in the Billie Jean King Cup last year for Team Canada, she did not attend many prestigious tours. Earlier this year, Bouchard’s interest in Pickleball, led some speculations about her commitment to tennis. However, she’s now focused on training for the Zephyrhills W75 tournament, dispelling any doubts about her dedication to the sport.

A reliable tennis source recently shared a clip that featured Canadian WTA star Eugenie Bouchard practicing her old sport tennis on the hard court. Bouchard was spotted in olive shorts and a white crop top trying her hands at her old tennis strokes. Bouchard never really left tennis as she participated in Netflix’s Second Tennis Slam featuring players like Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz. Since she lives in Miami, her participation in the W75 tour makes sense as it will take place in Florida. This 30-year-old WTA star entered the Wimbledon Finals in 2014 and reached the semifinals of the Australian Open and the French Open that year. After that, Bouchard garnered scattered attention from the tennis fraternity for not performing up to the mark.

Nevertheless, it felt like tennis was never over for this Canadian WTA star as she is back to try her skills. Along with seeing her play on the hard court, fans noticed how Bouchard added Artemas’s “I like the way you kiss me” as her background score for this clip on TikTok. This raised a serious question of whether Bouchard had finally realized how much she loved this sport. Well, from Bouchard’s earlier statements, it is pretty evident that tennis will always be her priority no matter how fond she is of Pickleball.

Tennis has been Eugenie Bouchard’s “first love” since she was five years old
This Canadian WTA Star debuted on pickleball in January of this season and her experience was “it was better than expected.” She participated in the singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles at the PPA Tour Hyundai Masters in Palm Springs. Despite exiting the tour on the first day, Bouchard commented-“Look, pickleball is crazy,” Bouchard revealed that despite playing many tennis tournaments and having a career rank as high as five previously, she was nervous before her debut pickleball tournament. She said- “It’s wild for me to just play a completely different sport,”

This WTA star mentioned that she was interested in Pickleball seeing the growth of the sport- “I’m amazed at the growth and I’m happy to jump on this train of something that is taking over, Everyone I know plays, everyone I know is obsessed with it.”
