Jordan Spieth to Undergo Surgery? Awful Masters Update Paints a Bleak Picture of PGA Tour Pro’s Future

Jordan Spieth has stellar records at Augusta National. But this year, the second-youngest Masters champion is trading with caution. His wrist injury, which put a spanner in his career goals last year, has cropped up again. Spieth revealed that he is receiving constant treatment. First and foremost, the three-time Major winner needs rest, which he can’t afford at this point.

The only other option left for him is surgery. Spieth knows that his wrist is in pretty bad shape, and he admitted that as much before the Masters. With a slight regret in his tone, the 13-time PGA Tour winner revealed he has ignored the issue for quite some time, and now he is suffering.

Jordan Spieth is caught between a rock and a hard place

Spieth admitted from Augusta National Golf Club that his wrist flared up three times this year. The 13-time PGA Tour winner noticed it first at the Sentry in January and then at THE PLAYERS Championship. And, once again, last week in Texas. The 30-year-old missed the cut at the PLAYERS, and after a tumultuous round at TPC San Antonio, Spieth tied for the 10th spot.

“When it happens, I can’t do anything that day. So as long as it doesn’t happen during — typically, as the week goes on, it gets better and better, using it more and more, and I’m recovering more and more than, say, my days off at home. I’m getting treatment daily here.”
