Cheyenne Woods Opens Up About Her Newborn’s Sensitive Medical Issue: “Used to Be So Afraid to Leave the House”

Motherhood is a life-changing experience. Cheyenne Woods stepped into the realms of motherhood, alongside her husband, Aaron Hicks. She is now the mother of two, namely, Cameron Hicks and Maya Nicole Hicks. For her, experiencing motherhood has “reaffirmed the importance of family and being there when you can while you can.” But even the bliss of motherhood comes with its own challenges, and it has for Cheyenne Woods.

Things haven’t been as smooth as one would want for the former Tour professional. The golfer’s second born child has been facing difficulty with feeding and gaining weight ever since birth. She has been continuously struggling with severe reflux and laryngomalacia. Woods’s “sweet Maya” has even undergone surgery for it.

The 4-month-old is currently making use of a feeding tube to better supplement her body with much-needed nutrition for development. In light of the ongoing health struggles of her infant, Cheyenne Woods recently expressed how she used to feel scared because of her daughter’s health struggle and she feels now.

She wrote on her Instagram story, “I’m learning so much, overcoming fears, and adapting constantly for this sweet girl. I used to be so afraid to leave the house because of the unknowns with her feeding tube, but we are slowly figuring things out.”

Undoubtedly, it is a jolting experience to see your child in so much pain. However, the way the 33-year-old seems to be recuperating from the challenges that life has brought her family’s way is truly an inspiration. Talking of being an inspiration, Tiger Woods’s niece has never faltered in this arena. From playing her last round of golf just five days before giving birth to her youngest to never letting that smile fade even as Maya undergoes treatment, Cheyenne Woods is a living ode to the miracles of determination and optimism.
