Jon Rahm Faces Wrath of the Golf World After Getting Caught ‘Lying’ Ahead of LIV Golf Adelaide

Jon Rahm has been dragged into the court of public opinion once again. Having reasoned out his move to LIV Golf in as many ways as possible, his latest attempt has witnessed the wrath of fans who seem to disagree with his recent reasoning.

LIV Golf is moving fast to its event in Adelaide. On the matter of bringing world-class golf to Australia, Rahm claimed as per Flushing It that “there could have been a bigger effort made (by the tours). I do remember growing up watching the Australian Open, Australian Masters, and Australian PGA and those three events were big events that attracted the best players. When I turned pro, it just wasn’t part of what players did.”

However, a fan seemed to disagree with Rahm’s opinions. They wrote, “When Rahm turned pro, Spieth had just gone 1-2 in the Australian Open, then he won it again. Rory has won it. Sick of golfers blaming somebody else for their own decisions. He’s there because he’s paid to be. Simple. Stop treating us like idiots.”

This has sparked controversy as the golf world continues to demand more transparency with each passing day. The fan avidly pointed out golfers like Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth as prime examples of major names in the game displaying their skills on Australian greens. The Rahm critique did not stop there and also demanded answers from the LIV Golf defector, who according to him moved to LIV Golf primarily for its monetary relief aspect. Therefore, they urged the Spaniard to stop “blaming somebody else” for his own decision.

But did the larger golf world agree with this stance? Let us find out!

How did other fans react to this fact-check served to Rahm?
One fan wrote, “@flushingitgolf please respond to actual facts and hold Rahm to account here. He’s just lying,” demanding an open clarification concerning the omission of facts made by the Spaniard. The sheer fact that the 2023 Masters winner disregarded how other Tours haven’t only camped in Australia but have also focused on diverging the game of golf there for a long time, resulted in a public outcry among fans.
