Andy Murray appears to have been pictured for the first time with one of his daughters – in an adorable photograph posted by his mum Judy Murray. The sweet shot has been cropped, though the corner of the image seems to show a little girl’s blonde curly hair, much like Andy’s. It’s thought to be his three-year-old daughter, Sophia. “Some lovely blonde curly hair – mix of Andy & Kim – so one little Murray there!” one fan wrote.
Judy jokingly captioned the photo: “Aaaaaargh Andy seems to be morphing into John McEnroe…” which prompted plenty of other responses from her followers. “Can see blonde hair [there]? Gorgeous photo Judy, he’s much better looking than Mac and he was always my favourite back then. Nobody like Andy though. Hope he’s doing well.”
Andy and his wife Kim Sears are parents to two daughters, Edie and Sophia – but prefer to keep their family life very private. The couple have been married since 2015, welcoming Sophia in February 2016 and little Edie in November 2017.
Back in 2018, he revealed that the thought of his children has helped him get through his injury set-backs. “One of the things that I would like to do is play until my eldest daughter is able to watch me and have a small understanding of what it is I’ve done for my living,” he said. “That’s one of the things that’s motivated me to keep playing. That would be cool if she can come along and watch me hit some balls or practice, just to see what it is I do.”
