Despite Great Ambiguity Looming Over Her Future, LPGA Star Lexi Thompson Is a Long Way From Giving Up
A thrilling LPGA season concluded recently, and the professional golfers bid farewell with a bang. Many stars managed to play some of their best game, but Lexi Thompson suffered a setback. She experienced her fifth missed season cut at the last tournament, AIG Women’s Open.
However, she is focusing on the positives in her life. The golf icon will be back next season and, hopefully, will be able to overcome the setbacks. But the recent updates about her are pretty reassuring as well.
Her recent Instagram story indicates that the golf icon will always have memories of the golf course stuck to her. Quite literally. She uploaded a short video flaunting her hand with a new dark-red nail paint, possibly after a manicure. She wrote in the story, “Callused hands be looking good now.”
The story is shot with her being in the driver’s seat of her car and flexing her hands that have worked hard enough with a golf club. The hard work reflects in the bandages on her hand, showcasing the injuries golfers are subjected to.
It is hard to predict if Thompson will perform splendidly in her next LPGA season. Among the major tournaments of 2023, the player could only make the cut at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. As per Golf Channel, the missed cuts are concerning because the golfer risks losing a full card. The golf battle does not end when the season ends. For female golfers, it extends to the CME Globe.
It is the method to determine a player’s status on the tour since 2021. And Thompson stands 157th in the running. Only the first sixty players make it to the year-end CME Group Tour Championship. The news is stressful, but Lexi Thompson is far from the road that leads to giving up.
