WATCH: Meet the Wimbledon young pups who give Andy Murray the runaround
ANDY Murray is great at taming opponents with his powerful serves and volleys but taking on a pack of puppies is far more daunting.
Britain’s tennis hero can be seen getting the run around by boisterous cute six-week cocker spaniel puppies in a new video.
The short film has been shot to highlight the vital work that sniffer dogs play in fighting the international trade in wildlife and keeping Wimbledon safe.
Andy is the global ambassador for the WWF and in his fun clip for the wildlife charity, he can be watched being put to the test training the five cocker spaniel puppies on only their second day out to become sniffer dogs for the Metropolitan Police.
Sitting on Wimbledon’s famous Murray Mount, the 2013 champion is confronted by the puppies who are ready to give him a challenge as tough as Federer or Djokovic.
“We’ve brought a few new recruits for you to train for us,” the police officer in charge tells him as the spaniels set about chewing the tennis star’s fingers, biting his shoe laces and then running circles round him.
Besides struggling to tell the boy dogs from the girl dogs and discovering that puppies have needle sharp teeth, the player is also surprised by the little deposits puppies capable of delivering.
