David Beckham steals wedding date and venue from couple but offers to make amends
David Beckham has made headlines by supposedly offering to cover a couple’s mortgage and the cost of their wedding and honeymoon.
This lavish intervention is in order to book their chosen venue for his looming milestone 50th birthday, slated to take place simultaneously with the pair’s nuptials next year.
The footballing icon, who will be hitting the half-century mark in May next year, has apparently been scouting for nothing but the most exquisite hostelry for his grand celebration.
One whispered suggestion suggests David eyed up Scotland’s Gleneagles resort for his swanky party.
However, a love-struck couple had already pencilled in their big day at this exact spot on the same date as the proposed celebration.
To get around this clash, it’s believed that David offered to help the couple readjust their plans and more – even footing the bill for all the alternations and sweetening the deal immensely.
A ‘friend of a friend’ spilled the beans on X (formerly Twitter) about the extravagant story.
User Ollienarrator shared: “A friend of a friend is getting married at Gleneagles next year but David Beckham wants the date for his 50th, so to get the friend to move it so he can have the hotel, Gleneagles are paying for their new wedding date, honeymoon AND paying off their mortgage… the power of Becks.”
The comment section was awash with social media users expressing their amazement and appreciation for ‘Golden Balls’ seemingly magnanimous financial offer.
