Golfer Rory McIlroy files for divorce in Palm Beach. Here’s what we know so far

They haven’t been pictured together in months or appeared on each other’s social media.

And now, we hear Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll, who own a $10 million mansion at the Bear’s Club in Jupiter, are getting a divorce.

The pro golfer was the one who did the filing, on Monday, in Palm Beach County, Florida, according to court records. McIlroy’s lawyer is Thomas Sasser, the same one Tiger Woods used after his infamous split from Elin Nordegren in 2010. The lawyer for Stoll, who is from upstate New York, was not listed.

McIlroy, who turned 35 on May 4, is asking for a prenuptial agreement to be enforced, as well as a parenting plan for their daughter Poppy, 3.

The filing comes just days before the Puttery co-owner is expected to compete in this weekend’s PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.

McIlroy hasn’t won a major in 10 years, but the day before his filing, he clinched the Wells Fargo Championship, in Charlotte, North Carolina, earning a cool $3.6 million.

The exes first met during the Ryder Cup in 2012, while Stoll, 37, was working as a tournament transport official.

At the time, McIlroy was still with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki, but began dating Stoll two years later. They wed in a castle in his native country of Ireland in April 2017 and were often seen on the green together, with Stoll acting as his caddy.

McIlroy’s manager Sean O’Flaherty, confirmed the unfortunate news to the Telegraph Sport, releasing a statement that he wants “to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible.”
