Andy Murray on missing his family when he’s on tour

Andy Murray has been open about how much he misses his family when he’s on tour. The tennis star has a wife, Kim, and four children, and he says it’s hard to be away from them for long periods of time.

In a recent interview, Murray said, “I miss my family so much when I’m away. They’re my everything, and I love spending time with them. It’s tough being away from them for weeks at a time, but it’s my job and I have to do it.”

Murray has said that he tries to make the most of the time he does have with his family, and he often FaceTimes them when he’s on the road. He also says that he makes sure to bring them gifts when he returns home.

In a 2022 post-match speech after losing in the final of the Sydney Classic, Murray fought back tears as he spoke about missing his family. He said, “First time back in the finals for three years, it’s been a long road to get back here but I couldn’t have done it without your help, so thank you. I’d also like to thank my family back home. I don’t know if you were watching but I miss you all.”

Murray’s wife, Kim, has also spoken about how difficult it is for her to be away from her husband for long periods of time. She has said that she tries to be supportive of his career, but it’s hard not to miss him when he’s gone.

In a 2019 interview, Kim said, “It’s tough being away from Andy for so long. We’re a very close family, and we miss each other a lot when he’s away. But I know it’s his dream to play tennis, and I want to support him in any way I can.”

It’s clear that Andy Murray loves his family very much, and he misses them dearly when he’s on tour. It’s also clear that his family is very supportive of his career, even though it means being apart for long periods of time.
