Andy Murray reveals being called RUBBISH by his son in Nottingham, admits to not wanting him at Wimbledon
In a recent interview with BBC Sports, British tennis icon Andy Murray made a surprising revelation about his toughest critic, none other than his own 3-year-old son, Teddy. The former World No. 1 expressed his reluctance to have Teddy present during any of his matches at the upcoming Wimbledon.
Turns out the 3-year-old lad, Teddy, is his dad’s harshest critic. Murray told how 50 minutes into the match his son would start yelling “Rubbish! Rubbish!” every time the Briton lost a point. With the Wimbledon being one of the most prestigious events in tennis, Murray jokingly emphasized that having his son’s unfiltered critiques echoing throughout the stadium might not be the ideal scenario.
Murray is a father of 4 kids. He and his wife Kim Sears have always kept their children out of the spotlight but. Regardless of this fact, Murray often talks about his kids whenever he gets a chance. In 2021, Murray and Sears welcomed their fourth child. The arrival of their youngest has been kept in wraps ever since.

Andy Murray’s dream of being seeded at Wimbledon gets shattered
The two-time Wimbledon champion has been performing extremely on the grass court this year and it looks like he has a chance to win his third trophy this season. Recently, he won the Nottingham Open by defeating French player Arthur Cazaux in a straight set. Previous to that, he won the Surbiton Trophy by defeating the Austrian player Jurij Rodionov. Unfortunately, the dream of attaining a favorable seed at Wimbledon took a bitter turn when the five-time champion’s opening match at Queen’s Club resulted in a resounding defeat.
Alex De Minaur bested him with an impressive 6-3, 6-1 scoreline, bringing an end to Murray’s remarkable 10-match winning streak. The loss left fans and pundits searching for reasons behind the unexpected outcome.
He also withdrew from the doubles of the Queen’s club, with fatigue as one of his reasons. Fans believe that his loss has to do with an intense schedule as he has been playing continuously for three weeks, but Murray refuted all such assumptions. Talking to The Guardian, he candidly said, “I just didn’t play well.”
The icon has also found himself in recent controversies. A few days back, the All-England Club unveiled on its Social Media platform a poster of 15 champions of past and present who are walking down the stairs of the main building. Murray unfortunately wasn’t placed in this picture. This incident enraged his fans and family at what they deemed a disrespectful snub.
Meanwhile, Murray has not yet commented on this incident.
