Andy Murray wife: How hip injuries put ‘strain’ on six-year marriage to Kim Sears
Tennis ace Andy Murray, 34, underwent a hip operation in 2018 after withdrawing from the Australian Open. The two-time Wimbledon champion said being out of action because of his injury put a strain on his marriage, as he was feeling “down all the time”.
The professional tennis player said the pain he was suffering often kept him awake at night and made it difficult to sleep and walk.
He tried to hide his discomfort from his children, but it was harder to keep it from his wife Kim Sears.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2015, are parents to four young children.
“Being injured can be frustrating, but the issue that I had was with me every single day, sleeping and walking,” he told The Times.
“It wasn’t just I hit a serve and my arm hurt. This woke me up in the night. It was bad.
“I don’t know if the children noticed because when I’m with them I’m always trying to put on a brave face, but my wife definitely.
“It put a lot of strain on our relationship, just because I was down all the time,” he candidly continued.
