Nelly Korda is a professional golfer from the United States who was born on July 28, 1998, in Bradenton, Florida. She comes from a family of athletes: her father is former professional tennis player Petr Korda, and her mother is former professional tennis player Regina Rajchrtova. Her older sister, Jessica Korda, is also a professional golfer.



Nelly Korda started playing golf at a young age and was a successful junior golfer. She played college golf at the University of Florida, where she was a three-time All-American and helped her team win the SEC championship in 2018.



Korda turned professional in 2016 and played on the Symetra Tour in 2017, where she won her first professional tournament. In 2018, she earned her LPGA Tour card and had a successful rookie season, finishing in the top-10 five times and earning over $1 million in prize money.



In 2019, Korda won her first LPGA Tour event, the Women’s Australian Open, and finished the season with three top-10 finishes. In 2020, she won two more LPGA Tour events, the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open and the Gainbridge LPGA, and finished the season ranked third in the world.



Korda continued her success in 2021, winning the Gainbridge LPGA for the second consecutive year and earning a spot on the United States Solheim Cup team. She also won a gold medal in golf at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, representing the United States.
