Twenty-time tennis Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal has joined the growing list of people who have sent in their congratulatory messages for Philippines’ own rising star Alex Eala.
Nadal on social media commended Eala for her great results— after the 15-year-old climbed to number two in the world junior girls rankings.
“Very happy for you and keep up the hard work and great results,” Nadal, who recently clinched his record 13th French Open title, wrote on Twitter regarding Eala’s latest feat.
Eala clinched the new ranking following a historic run at the French Open juniors tournament, where she reached the semifinals. She became the first Filipina to advance to a semifinal round of a Grand Slam tournament.
The tennis ace is also a scholar at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Spain.
