‘I See a Mess Basically’ – World No. 1 Iga Swiatek Is Not Letting Success Get to Her Head

Iga Swiatek is having the time of her life with her newly found form and success on the WTA tour. With three consecutive tournament victories, the Polish star is proving herself as the top player.

Swiatek rose to fame with her performance in 2019 and has been quite consistent ever since. Amongst active players, she also holds the record of going into the second week of the most number of Grand Slams consecutively.

Even though the start to her 2022 season was a little lackluster, she picked up her form by the time Australian Open started. The Pole reached the semifinals of the Australian Open and was defeated by Danielle Collins, who was overpowered eventually by Ashleigh Barty in the finals.

Since the semi-final defeat in Melbourne, Swiatek has played stellar tennis and is currently the holder of three consecutive titles in Qatar, Indian Wells, and Miami.

After her win at the Miami Open, Iga was asked about her feelings over this new and exciting development. To this, the Pole said, “Well, when I wake up and look in the mirror, I see a mess basically (smiling).”
