2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu reveals she is trying not to read messages she receives on social media as she fears that she might read a hateful message and that it could get into her head.
Raducanu, 19, went from a promising teenager to a big tennis star during her stunning 2021 US Open campaign.
Raducanu hasn’t won any titles since the US Open and she has been on the receiving end of criticism for the good part in 2022.
Some are going as far as to call Raducanu a “one-hit wonder” but the majority think that the 19-year-old Briton just needs more time and experience.
“I personally don’t really read my comments because you could have millions of people, thousands of people commenting great things, but maybe the bad one will stick in your mind. So I don’t look at my comments,” Raducanu said, per Gaspar Ribeiro Lanca.
But I always take advice from everyone and I always ask for people’s opinions and point of views, because they might be seeing something that I’m not. Then it’s just up to me to filter and use what I want to.”
