‘What a J*rk’: Joke Goes Terribly Wrong as Insulting Rickie Fowler Video Triggers a Backlash in the Golf Community

The fourth and final major of the season was concluded, and champion golfer Brian Harman gave no chance to any other golfer to come even close to him. It was a fantastic event with fans excited till the very end. Another fan favorite golfer, Rickie Fowler did good and ended at T23 with a final score of even par.

But as it turns out, Fowler is only a favorite amongst the fans in his home country, and not in the UK. At least this is what the recent viral video of a fan lashing at the golfer from a distance says!

In June, the news surfaced that Fowler, along with fellow golfers, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas was supposed to be one of the three American golfers to invest in Leeds, as the club got taken over by 49ers Group. But as the time progressed, the deal for Fowler fell through and he decided not to invest in the club as Leeds United got relegated.

The 34-year-old golfer said that his financial team thought that this might not be the best investment option for him, but he is very much interested in investing in a premier league club, and he will if the opportunity ever comes. But it seems that the golfer’s decision to back out did not sit right with the UK fans as they called him a “coward” at Hoylake.

A video of a fan lashing out at the 34-year-old golfer went viral during the Open Championship as the golfer was going from one hole to another. A fan holding a glass of beer in his hand called out the golfer, and said, “Rickie what happened to the 49ers investment… Go Leeds… you coward.” Another golf enthusiast in the video can be heard giggling in the background.
