Judy Murray puts Scottish mansion on sale for £825,000-plus after admitting it’s too big for her

Judy Murray is keen to downsize from her luxury Scots mansion after putting it on sale for offers over £825,000.

The mother of Great Britain’s Davis Cup stars Andy and Jamie concedes the beautiful Khyber House in Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire, is too big for her and that she wants to move into something “more manageable”.

Tennis coach Murray, 57, bought the 1930s-built mansion four-and-a-half years ago after she “fell in love” with it at a viewing.

A baronial-style lodge, it features a gym, office, drawing room, dining room and two-car garage but Murray says she only makes use of its four bedrooms “once or twice a year” when her sons visit.

“I loved Khyber House from the first time I saw it. It’s like a little white castle sitting above the town and looking out over the hills,” she says.

“I have a pretty hectic travel and work schedule so it’s the perfect place to chill because it’s so quiet and peaceful.

“The house is big enough to host the whole family on the rare occasions that Jamie and Andy are home, and its central location makes it easy to commute to the bigger cities and the airports. Bridge of Allan is a gorgeous town with lots of character and loads going on.”

Judy regularly travels to the south of England to visit her sons and Andy’s one-year-old daughter Sophia.

She does, however, want to keep a base in Scotland so she can still comfortably fulfill her work and family commitments.
