Pregnant Serena Williams Goes Sister Venus Williams’ Way for a Change as Husband Alexis Ohanian Helps Her Explore Different Path on Their Italian ‘Babymoon’
Aside from tennis, Venus Williams has a penchant for spending her time on hobbies. One well-known hobby of the seven-time grand slam champion is keeping up with the world of art. Following in her elder sister’s footsteps, Serena Williams has also developed a taste for the same. In a series of pictures shared by her husband, Alexis Ohanian, fans could see the Queen of the Court enjoying an art exhibition.
Although Serena is slowly warming up to the idea of art exhibitions, her sister has always been enamored by the field. Over the years, Queen V has worked in many fundraisers which auction portraits. She has also visited several art exhibitions, including one with Reilly Opelka. Her latest project is concerned with renovating the house of the late singer Nina Simone, which was in ruins before the American tennis legend intervened.
Serena Williams diversifies her hobbies by taking after her sister, Venus
As the younger Williams sister is trying to fill her schedule after her retirement, she has chosen to follow in the footsteps of Venus. The Queen of the Court visited an art exhibit with her husband Alexis Ohanian, daughter Olympia Ohanian and nephew Jair Bobbitt. The four went to a famous gallery in Italy. The Uffizi gallery houses some of the most prominent painters in history, including Michelangelo, Da Vinci and more.
Ohanian wrote that Serena wanted to see art, so they went to the gallery. “She said she wanted to see some art, so…“
But he did not forget his manners as he remembered to thank the gallery as they allowed an after-hours private tour. He also reminisced about the last time he visited the gallery.
“Grazie, Uffizi, for letting me book an after hours private tour of some amazing works… Michaelangelo… Da Vinci… Botticelli… Caravaggio ???? we all left inspired. Last time I visited was 20 years ago as a broke college student among 1,000s of visitors—this was a surreal night.”
Ohanian shared five pictures of their time at the venue. Two pictures featured his wife. In one of those pictures, she was taking a picture displayed at the gallery.
While Serena is beginning her journey in the wonderful world of art, her sister, Venus, has always showcased her love for the field.
How Venus Williams became a savior of art!
Despite giving her best on court for her highly anticipated comeback to the WTA Tour, she is also engaged in many notable projects outside of tennis. One of her projects is to preserve the legacy of her idol, Nina Simone. To ensure that she has enough funds to complete the venture, Venus has hosted many fundraising events. One of those events was an auction of 11 pieces of contemporary artwork inspired by Nina Simone’s life.
