Tiger Woods intervenes to help Rory McIlroy after spotting problem with golf swing
Rory McIlroy will be out to put a recent poor run of form behind him at this week’s PGA Championship, and has even had help from the great Tiger Woods.
Tiger Woods has intervened to help Rory McIlroy following a recent tough run of form for the Northern Irishman ahead of this week’s PGA Championship. McIlroy headed into the opening major of the year at last month’s Masters as a well-backed favourite.
His week at Augusta was one to forget though after missing the 36-hole cut, shooting five-over-par across the opening two days. One week later, McIlroy then opted to skip the RBC Heritage – his second elevated event withdrawal of the season, leading to a £2.4 million sanction.
The Northern Irishman was back in action at this month’s Wells Fargo Championship, but could only secure a top 50 finish as he continued to hunt for the form he showed throughout 2022. McIlroy will be hoping his a-game returns this week ahead of the second major of the season.
And it appears the four-time major champion has help from the very best in a bid to get back to the top. According to Golf Channel, McIlroy sat down with good friend, and golfing great Tiger Woods to discuss his swing.
