Golf world reacts to Bryson DeChambeau’s shock body transformation

Golf’s ‘Hulk’ Bryson DeChambeau has reinvented himself once again after the controversial character underwent another stunning body transformation in 2023. DeChambeau took the golf world by storm ahead of the 2020 season having emerged as a bulked-up version of himself.

During the initial months of lockdown in the US, DeChambeau used the time to put more weight on his frame consuming up to seven protein shakes a day. DeChameau stunned viewers when he returned to golf bigger and stronger than ever before.

Known as the ‘Mad Scientist’ the American garnered attention with a revolutionised frame and swing in order to give himself a competitive advantage over the field. DeChambeau also uses iron shafts that are all the same length and created headlines when the American claimed he wanted to live to 130 years old.

The 29-year-old couldn’t stay out of the headlines as he constantly found himself feuding with someone on the course, before entering into a bitter feud with compatriot Brooks Koepka.

But the controversial American’s competitive changes paid off. DeChambeau averaged the longest drive in the 2019/20 season at 322.1 yards. This was eight more yards than Rory McIlroy and 11 more than Dustin Johnson.

His confidence grew and thus the results came in as he finished in the top five at the PGA Championship before his maiden major win at the US Open. His feat at the US Open was special considering he finished 6-under, despite no other player breaking par.
