After losing in the third round of Wimbledon to the French tennis player Alize Cornet, Iga Świątek decided to go on vacation. The best tennis player in the world posted a holiday report on her Instagram, where she shared beautiful photos.
Iga Świątek seemed invincible for a long time. The 21-year-old came to London with a series of 35 victories and victories in tournaments in Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, Stuttgart, Rome and the French Open in Paris.
Although the Polish woman managed to defeat the first two rivals – the Croatian Jany Fett and the Dutch Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove, the third opponent ended Iga’s winning series. Świątek lost to Alize Cornet 4:6, 2:6.
“ I don’t know when I’ll learn to play on the grass. I bet that in the end I will succeed, that it will be easier every year “- said Iga after the defeat in London.
“ I know when I’m not at my best. This failure is a logical consequence. I tried many things to feel better on the grass. However, if some things didn’t work out for me in training, I can’t be surprised that they didn’t work out during the matches as well “- explained Świątek.
Holidays of Iga Świątek
In an interview with Fakt, Iga’s father confessed that the tennis player was planning a rest after Wimbledon. Tomasz Świątek reminded that Iga had basically no time to regenerate since February.
– “ First of all, Iga needs to rest. This is the most important thing now! Since February, in every tournament she has played, she has played to the end. She had to teach herself and her body to start new tasks without much rest and regeneration. Because each of these 37 won matches was a task and Iga solved them all. That is why I have great respect for what she has done in recent months, ” said Tomasz Świątek.
