She shared her concerns and hopes regarding his potential retirement from tennis. “I have a particular bond with Andy,” Mauresmo said, remembering the days when she used to sit in the box while Murray played. Being a former world No. 1 herself, Maurismo acknowledged the efforts Murray has put into his career, despite his ongoing physical issues (the hip injury because of which he had to undergo two major surgeries). “For a long time now, he’s been physically enduring things that aren’t necessarily very pleasant. And I know that sometimes he wants to carry on, sometimes he wants to stop.”
