Masters champion Scottie Scheffler arrives at the RBC Heritage in South Carolina to play just three days after his Augusta triumph – leaving heavily pregnant wife Meredith at home again
Masters champion Scottie Scheffler has arrived at the RBC Heritage in South Carolina to tee it up again on the PGA Tour just three days after his Augusta triumph.
It means the world No. 1 has again left his heavily pregnant wife Meredith at their home in Texas. She is due to give birth at any moment.
Scheffler was incredibly emotional after his second Masters win on Sunday as he dashed to quickly get home to his childhood sweetheart, who is pregnant with their first child.
‘I’m coming home; I’ll be home as quick as I can,’ Scheffler said when asked if he had a message for his wife. ‘I love you and I’m coming home.’
But now he’s back to the grind of the PGA Tour and will play at Harbour Town this week in one of the tour’s flagship competitions.
He will renew his rivalry with his closest Masters rivals Ludvig Aberg, Max Homa and Collin Morikawa, as well as the likes of Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood and Viktor Hovland.
Footage posted by the PGA Tour on Wednesday showed Scheffler joking around with Justin Thomas before he unleashed a booming drive down the fairway.
