Jack Grealish sends a four-word message to Phil Foden after injury absence between Man City and Man United
Jack Grealish was quick to celebrate Manchester City’s win over arch-rivals Manchester United on Sunday having missed the clash through injury.
The winger was left out of the City side after suffering yet another setback this season, but didn’t have to worry as his teammates did the job at the Etihad Stadium.
Coming from behind, Pep Guardiola’s men cut the gap at the top back down the one point after Liverpool’s controversial late winner over Nottingham Forest 24 hours earlier. A stunning brace from Phil Foden ensured that Marcus Rashford’s wondergoal in the first half didn’t dent the title charge from the champions.
Erling Haaland grabbed a third to seal the win late on having produced possibly the miss of the season earlier in the game. It leaves Grealish and his squad once more in a strong position to push on moving forward.
That was despite the absence of Grealish, who was ruled out of the game prior to kick-off due to a reoccurrence of his groin troubles. “I don’t think [he will be back before the internationals],” Guardiola had said before the game. “I haven’t spoken to the doctors but I think he has to recover well to use him as much as possible.
“We have an alternative. Setbacks in life are always there, it is how you overcome them.”
