Jannik Sinner embarrassed after Australian Open win as Sharapova digs up priceless video
Jannik Sinner secured the first Grand Slam of his career at the Australian Open, and some of his congratulatory messages will have caught the eye of his fans.
Jannik Sinner has been left embarrassed following his Australian Open win thanks to Maria Sharapova. A video of the newly-crowned champion has been shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing him singing and dancing whilst donning some questionable Christmas accessories.
Sinner landed his first Grand Slam in extraordinary fashion at Melbourne Park, fighting back from two sets down to beat Daniil Medvedev. The Italian headed into the final full of confidence after beating Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals.
However, Medvedev took control of the first half of the match and comfortably won the opening two sets. Sinner soon hit back though and quickly found his rhythm to secure a 3-6 3-6 6-4 6-4 6-3 victory.
The performance justified why the fourth seed has been tipped to rival Carlos Alcaraz for plenty of titles in the future. Sinner earned plenty of praise for his gritty display, with several stars posting online to congratulate the 22-year-old.
