Emma Raducanu spending time on court with ex-Indian tennis player ahead of 2024

Former Indian tennis player Somdev Devvarman has been spending some time on the practice court with Emma Raducanu recently, via Sky Sports News. After going separate ways with coach Sebastian Sachs in June, Raducanu was left without a coach.

This week, British media reported that Raducanu was spotted practicing with her childhood coach Nick Cavaday at the National Tennis Centre. Cavaday is a very familiar face to Raducanu’s family as he worked with the 21-year-old during her childhood. After those reports, Sky Sports reported that former world No. 62 Devvarman has also been involved in some of Raducanu’s recent training sessions. According to Sky Sports, Raducanu hasn’t yet made any official decision as she has yet to decide if she will sign Cavaday to a contract and travel with him to Australia.

Raducanu urged to give her next coach time
Patrick Mouratoglou, who famously coached Serena Williams for a decade, believes that “finding stability around her” could be the key to Raducanu unlocking her potential to the fullest. Since 2021 Wimbledon, Raducanu has changed five different coaches. Mouratoglou doesn’t think that’s the right concept as he is urging Raducanu to try to find someone she can trust and then give their partnership time to succeed.

“I know that Raducanu is coming back which is great news for British tennis. She has suffered a lot both in her tennis, in her results and after that with injuries but I hope she can find some stability around her because without stability she’s not going to be able to achieve her potential and that would be sad. Let’s hope that she can stay injury free at the start of the season and that she can find someone who can help her fall in love with the game and tennis again for her future,” Mouratoglou told Sky Sports this month.

It remains to be seen if Raducanu will officially hire coach Cavaday for 2024.
