Jon Rahm secures first LIV Golf signing as several stars fight for spots

Jon Rahm is set to announce fellow Spaniard Adri Arnaus as the second member of his new LIV Golf team. Rahm himself made the LIV move earlier this month, following in the footsteps of the likes of Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson.

The Spaniard however is the Saudi-backed league’s biggest coup yet, penning a reported £450 million deal with Greg Norman and co. As part of the agreement Rahm has been handed the reins of his own LIV team, and according to Spanish outlet, Relovo, Arnaus is set to become his first signing.

The 29-year-old has spent the majority of his career with the DP World Tour and has one win to his name, coming on home soil at last year’s Catalunya Championship. According to Arnaus’ website, the Spaniard still has every intention to continue on the DP World Tour next month despite his links to Rahm.

Arnaus has the Dubai Invitational, Dubai Desert Classic and Ras Al Khaimah Championship all penned into his schedule. As things stand LIV players are still able to compete in DP World Tour events, unlike their PGA Tour status.

It does however still come with some consequence, with the Wentworth-based circuit able to fine and suspend players for competing in LIV events. This has led to a number of Saudi league players resigning from the Tour, including Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia.
