Eugenie Bouchard comes to Nick Kyrgios’ defense amid stunning criticism
Eugenie Bouchard has come to Nick Kyrgios’ defense following the criticism directed at Tennis Channel for adding the Australian tennis star to their coverage crew for the 2023 ATP Finals. Last week, Tennis Channel announced 2022 Wimbledon finalist Kyrgios would be providing his expertise for them in Turin.
While some think having Kyrgios in the studio is a fantastic idea, some are not happy to see Kyrgios being given a platform to share his tennis insight and opinion on certain topics. In the comment section on Instagram, one person wrote: “When are you people going to stop giving this guy (Kyrgios) a platform.” Bouchard replied to that person: “Stop being a hater!”

On Wednesday, Kyrgos made his debut for Tennis Channel.
“I feel like I’m a student of the game. I can give insights. You know I’ve been on court with most of these guys, I’ve shared locker room moments. I can give bit of a different look,” Kyrgios said in his broadcasting debut. Kyrgios has been on the pro level for a decade and he is one of the most interesting personalities in tennis.
“Nick Kyrgios, whose electric style of play and straight-to-the-point conversational approach have endeared him to millions of fans around the world, is joining Tennis Channel as an analyst during its coverage of the ATP Finals November 12-19.
It will be Kyrgios’ first time working with the network, and it will happen during the most exclusive event in men’s tennis, with just the top-eight singles players and doubles teams qualifying for the event based on points earned during the 2023 season,” Tennis Channel said in a statement last week.
On Wednesday, Kyrgios shared his thoughts on certain topics from the Carlos Alcaraz-Andrey Rublev match and the Daniil Medvedev-Alexander Zverev match. The ATP Finals won’t finish until Sunday and we will hear more Kyrgios expertise in the upcoming days.
