Despite Giving It a Silent Treatment, Nelly Korda Doesn’t Get Blatantly Ignored by John Daly’s Turf; Golf World Reacts

Nelly Korda has decided to give golf a break, a short one albeit. Indeed, the $2,300,000 LPGA event happening this week in Arkansas is missing her name. But a glimpse from the past has shot her back into the spotlight.

The eight-time LPGA Tour winner suffered a major heartbreak last week when her team failed to win the Solheim Cup for the third time in six years. In the penultimate match, her Spanish opponent, Carlota Ciganda, prevailed over the US golfer. Korda, after carrying the team on her back for so long, decided to take some time off to process the failure.

In their Solheim Cup tussle in Spain last week, Korda was going all square with Ciganda till the final moment. But when the home girl holed her ball in the 16 hole, Team USA’s last bit of hope to win the Solheim Cup got buried with it. A crestfallen Korda was pictured looking back in disbelief.

It was too much for the three-time Solheim Cup veteran. After putting in so much effort over the last few months, everything went into vain. Korda, after an exhausting tournament, eventually decided to take a break.

The one-time major winner’s name is missing from LPGA’s Walmart NW Arkansas Championship at iconic golfer John Daly’s home turf in Rogers. Not only that, she has decided to skip LET’s The Open de France Dames as well. Clearly, she wanted to stay away from the spotlight for some time. However, a recent video from last year’s NWA brought her back into the limelight once again.
