‘Too Emotional’: Rory McIlroy’s Ryder Cup Comrade Sneakily Throws Shade as the Nasty Joe LaCava Bust-Up Refuses to Die Down

The fire of the Ryder Cup is still simmering under the surface. It’s been more than a week since the infamous bust-up between Rory McIlroy and Joe LaCava grabbed everyone by the scruff of their neck and forced them to keep their eyes glued to the screen. Both parties would probably prefer to erase the memory from popular consciousness. But it is not to be so.

Despite keeping mum for the most part, McIlroy’s teammate has finally chimed in. Taking a slight dig at Patrick Cantlay’s caddie, this Irish golfer, says he wants his caddie to be a “good guy”. But exactly how good? And what are the lines that he must not cross?

Shane Lowry is a gentleman, and he wants caddie to be one as well. The Irishman’s current caddie is Darren Reynolds. Lowry split with his long-time caddie Brian Martin at the end of January. Reynolds has previously been on the bags of Paul McGinley, Paul Dunne, and Roger Chapman.

His current caddie is also a decent golfer himself. Reynolds’ handicap of 10 certainly helps Lowry in assessing the situation and the course better. But more than the caddie’s skill on the greens, two-time PGA-Tour winner values peace of mind while playing on the course.
