Rickie Fowler’s $1,584,000 Win at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic: An Ultimate Fan Service in the Last Four Years

Not making the cut at the 2023 PGA Championship might have been a huge blow to Rickie Fowler‘s career. Moreover, his close chances of tasting victory at the Charles Schwab Challenge or at the other three events in a row, including the US Open, must have certainly left a wound in his heart.

It was a power-packed finish. From Fowler making a birdie putt at the 18th to tie the event lead at 24-under and going into a play-off against Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin to winning the championship, the golf world could witness a well-scripted ending to the golfer’s winless days. While he would undoubtedly never forget these moments, they wouldn’t be the first thing he would remember when he thought back on them.

Listening to the unending roar from hundreds of fans present at the event and their wide grins will be the scenes that continuously flash before his eyes forever. Notably, standing up to his reputation, Fowler didn’t disappoint his well-wishers as he addressed them for the first time after bagging $1,584,000.

“Just thanks to everyone for the support over the years,” the golfer said on his winner’s cam on the PGA Tour soon after grabbing the trophy. Furthermore, Fowler didn’t forget how much the fans supported him throughout the years, despite him not grabbing a win since the 2019 Phoenix Open. “This one feels good, and this one’s for all of you,” the 34-year-old said to his fans.
