The course allegedly allowed only one taxi service to enter, and they were probably not the best in town. At one point, the team themselves advised not to rely on them for a ride, it seems as per the thread.

The core issue is probably that while they sold a lot of tickets, the management was probably prepared for merely 10 percent of the actual crowd, or so it would seem. People had to wait through long queues to get water bottles and stuff, and even that wasn’t a certainty.
