Russian tennis legend Maria Sharapova had a great time at the US Open as she experienced the women’s singles final live. Now, she is enjoying her time as she went on a date with her fiancé, Alexander Gilkes. The former World No.1 loves to try delicious cuisines, and her Instagram account is proof enough.
The foodie enjoyed her favorite meal on a dinner date with her fiancé and shared the details of the same on her Instagram account. But Gilkes intervened while Sharapova was savoring her meal. It can be safely said that the 5-time Grand Slam champion was not too pleased. He attempted a dig at it, to which the Russian made her disapproval clear with an expression that screamed her feelings out loud.
The adorable couple enjoyed their date in one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. However, that didn’t stop Gilkes from having fun at the expense of his fiancee.
The five-time Grand Slam champion has dedicated herself to managing her business ventures, actively promoting the brands she endorses, and spending time with her 1-year-old baby boy, Theodore. Despite the busy schedule, the couple took some time out to enjoy a delicious meal at Los Angeles’ best pasta maker’s restaurant.
All went well till Gilkes trespassed her Mortadella. The ‘Sibirskaya Sirena’ (The Siberian Siren) posted pictures on her Instagram story and tagged the master pasta maker Evan Funke and called her meal “Perfection in every bite.” When Sharapova was about to dig in, her fiancé decided to help himself to the appetizing Mortadella.
The Russian legend clarified the boundaries over sharing food, refusing Gilkes’ advances with a hilariously confused reaction. Gilkes might have grasped the hint as the following story featured only the Russian’s dinner. Sharapova captioned the story, “Mortadella of my dreams.”
The couple got engaged in 2020 and welcomed Theodore in July 2021. Though Gilkes is a Brit, he was passionate about learning the Russian language, and the stars aligned when he met Sharapova. The Career Slam holder is yet to marry the Brit who refers to Sharapova as his ‘guru’ and revealed the lessons he learned from the exquisite tennis star.
