David and Victoria Beckham blasted by neighbour for ‘back door’ planning application

David and Victoria Beckham’s plans for their Cotswolds Mansion have hit another stumbling block as a neighbour complained that they were using “a back-door way” to turn a barn into a residential space.

The complaint came about after the couple lodged another planning application for the estate on August 2 seeking permission to convert their barn roof space into a home office.

In documents seen by Express.co.uk a neighbour called Stuart Leaf lodged an objection this week.

In it he said: “Surely this is just a back-door way of trying to turn this barn into a residential property. It is a barn and should remain so.”

It is just the latest complaint to befall the couple since they began work on their property.

An earlier approved planning application to build a giant greenhouse and allotment at their Cotswolds mansion also drew complaints when they subsequently applied to use an existing farm track as a temporary construction access track.

A man called Nicholas Smith objected to the application claiming that the track is a “public right of way”.

The complainant, who listed a London address, states: “West Oxfordshire District Council should have not (sic) investigated this application more, if they had they would have discovered it is a public right of way and listed as a “footpath” with Oxfordshire County Council.

“It is also listed on the Ramblers Website as a public footpath with a public right of way number 234/7/10,” they continue.

“I trust the local authority will now look into this matter,” he concluded.
