Alcaraz uses Nadal superstitious trick against Djokovic in Wimbledon final
Carlos Alcaraz copied Rafael Nadal’s habit of lining up his water bottles in the Wimbledon final against Novak Djokovic. He also did so during the Mutua Madrid Open. Below is Carlos (right) arranging his Evian bottles compared to Nadal (left), who does the same thing but in another year.
Rafael Nadal congratulated Alcaraz for Wimbledon win
Rafael Nadal was very happy to see his compatriot conquer Wimbledon in front of Novak Djokovic.
Here is Rafa’s congratulatory message.”Congratulations Carlos. You have given us immense joy today, and I’m sure our Spanish tennis pioneer, Manolo Santana, has also been cheering wherever he is, such as Wimbledon whom you have joined today.
A very strong hug, and enjoy the moment, Champion!!! ” Rafael Nadal said.Feliciano Lopez agrees with Nadal that Alcaraz is Spain’s new flagbearer in the world of tennis. ““I call him a miracle. Spain is not a big powerful tennis country compared to others and it’s crazy to see one great like Rafa about to end his career and then this kid from Murcia arrived.Winning a Grand Slam aged 19, being world number one.
It’s astonishing,” Lopez told Reuters, via Gulf News.”I think he has the skills to be a great grass court player. He has great hands and moves really good and the movement on the grass is key. Not many players move the way he moves.
Before Queen’s he had played only six matches on grass but he’s so gifted and the gifted players can adjust quickly than the rest of the human beings,” Lopez continued as quoted before.
