Rickie Fowler ready for Ryder Cup return

Rickie Fowler has been waiting for a PGA Tour title for a long time and he finally got it. A victory at the Rocket Mortgage Classic will serve as a serious motivation for him in terms of the challenges that lie ahead. Before the year began, Fowler had set himself several goals that he wished to be able to accomplish this year.

While he has succeeded in winning the PGA Tour title, there are still a few things he wants to accomplish. The next goal is to be part of the Ryder Cup team in September and October this year in Rome. Fowler is aware that with such victories he attracts enormous attention and opens the way to Rome.
“One of the main goals this year was to win,” he said.

“Outside of that was obviously playing well and doing what I’ve been doing to make it to the Tour Championship. One of the end goals was to be a part of the Ryder Cup team and that’s still what we’re focusing on right now. I’ve been a part of a handful and they’re very special weeks, so that’s where I have kind of my eyes”.

Rickie Fowler and his victory
Rickie Fowler emphasized that he expected such a great result considering how he played during this season. The most important thing for him is his family and his 19-month-old daughter Maya.“It’s hard to really put it all into words,” Fowler said.

“Obviously a lot of good stuff this year, been playing some really good golf. I knew it was just a matter of time with how I’ve been playing. I’ve had a couple tough weekends where I’ve had a chance. U.S.

Open didn’t get it done. But at the end of the day, getting to hold her, getting to hang with Maya and my wife. Winning is great but there’s a lot more to life than that”.
