Roger Federer and Andy Murray’s Wimbledon moment sends fans wild

Andy Murray showcased his sense of humour with fans going wild over Roger Federer, Mirka and Kate Middleton’s appearance at Wimbledon with the Scot bringing a smile to the tennis legend’s face. Federer hadn’t returned to Wimbledon since his retirement in 2022 with the eight-time SW19 champion the talk of the tennis world ahead of his special appearance.

Spectators on centre court honoured Federer with a huge standing ovation as Federer and Mirka joined Middleton in the Royal Box. And Federer was on hand to watch two-time Wimbledon champion Murray take on Ryan Peniston

Murray turned back the clock on centre court with a brilliant straight sets win over his British counterpart. And the attention was once again turned on Federer in the Royal Box. Speaking after his win, Murray couldn’t help but seek the eight-time Wimbledon winner’s approval over his performance.

“It was amazing to have some royalty and also some tennis royalty here,” Murray said addressing the guests on centre court. “It’s amazing to have Roger here supporting the event. The last time I was on this court and he was watching was during the Olympics and he was sat in Stan Wawrinka’s box and supporting against me.

“So it was nice to see a couple of claps after some good shots. It was amazing, I hope you are doing well Roger, Mirka and your parents.”

Federer was then asked if he approved of Murray’s performance, which he greeted with a smile and “I do.” Tennis fans went wild over the moment with Federer, Mirka and Middleton lauded over their appearance at Wimbledon together.
