Andy Murray sweetly opens up on looking after ‘full on’ daughters in rare parenting comments

Tennis champion Andy Murray rarely opens up about his three children, but has now spoken out about parenting in sweet new comments.

Andy has three children with his wife Kim Sears – daughters Sophia, four and Edie, two, and baby son Teddy, who was born in October last year.

The 32 year old sportsman revealed that he is currently in charge of his two daughters while Kim, 31, tends to baby Teddy.

Andy told Amazon Prime Video Sport that his daughters were ‘”full on” and chasing after them while also training for his tennis comeback had him worn out.

He said: “It’s been hard. I spend a lot of time with the eldest two because my wife is looking after the baby.

“They are at good ages, two and four, but they are like full on.

“So when you get home from training and getting up with them at 5.30 in the morning is tough.”

Andy is recovering from hip surgery and revealed that he is cherishing having more time at home with his young family, instead of travelling on the tennis circuit.

He said: “It’s great and I’m really enjoying it and that’s been the nice thing about being at home.

“During this period I have got to spend lots of time with my family.

“With daughter number one I was travelling quite a lot so I was not there a lot of the time.

“Whereas with my second daughter I have been there for pretty much everything which has been really nice.

That will be tough when I get back on the road again, being away from them.”

After baby teddy was born last year, Andy revealed his son’s moniker when he attended the launch of his new clothing brand in London.

Opening up on being a dad-of-three, Andy said: “It’s been good. It’s just busy. We’ve got three under four now and two dogs so you’ve got to keep an eye out all the time but it’s been good, sleeping fine.”

Andy revealed that Teddy’s middle name Barron is a family name which has been handed down through the generations.

According to Mail Online, he said: “The middle name got in there. I don’t actually love the name.

“My dad’s middle name was Barron, his dad was Barron, my grandad’s dad so I kept that. But Teddy, my wife liked that so she chose it.”
