ROOM SERVICE Sir Andy Murray and family to take over running of luxury five-star Cromlix Hotel
SIR Andy Murray and his family are to take over the running of his luxury five-star hotel.
The tennis legend, 35, is moving his Cromlix venue into “self-management”.
And he’ll be sure to serve up a better welcome for guests than madcap owner Basil and waiter Manuel at TV’s Fawlty Towers.
The 15-room hotel has been run by Inverlochy Castle Management International since Sir Andy bought it in his hometown of Dunblane, Perthshire, in 2013 for £2million.
And it will shut from January for almost three months for a refurbishment.
A planning application has gone to Stirling Council for landscaping works and a new entrance drop-off point.
Interior designer Suzanne Garuda said: “We will be bringing in elements of the beautiful Scottish countryside to reflect its unique, fun personality.”
Sir Andy and wife Kim, 35, held their wedding reception at the Cromlix in April 2015.
It has twice been named Scottish Hotel of the Year.
Andy recently revealed he sealed his love match with his future wife over social media messages.
