It has been a tremendous year for golf, to say the least. There have been brilliant tournaments, inspiring victories, heartbreaking losses, and some controversial news. Phil Mickelson finally broke his silence on joining LIV Golf and the merger on Wednesday during a media conference. This took place days before the LIV Golf Valderrama. This was his first public statement on the whole deal. Being the center figure of the LIV-PGA Tour war, fans and media outlets have been waiting for a statement for months now.

“I just can’t envision a better scenario for me as a player than playing out here on LIV,” He told reporters. “Rather than saying yes or no, I know that from a player’s experience, all of the difficulties and challenges and things that take a lot of excessive energy and output throughout the week have been fixed at LIV.”
