Alesha Dixon lifts lid on friendship with Simon Cowell and how he lives without a phone
Simon Cowell is the man who seemingly has everything he could ever desire, except one vital thing – A mobile phone. His lack of communication was shared by his Britain’s Got Talent co-star Alesha Dixon as she praised him for living a “free” life. The 45-year-old ITV personality spilled the beans, as she shared that it was a struggle to get in touch with Simon, 64.
Alesha spoke to The Receipts Podcast, an original Spotify video exclusive podcast when she was asked who the most famous contact on her phone is. She shed some light on one of her Britain’s Got Talent co-stars, as she replied: “It used to be Simon Cowell, but he doesn’t have a phone anymore.”
he musician was clearly in awe of how “free” of a life Simon was living. She exclaimed: “What a life right? That is what we call freedom!”
Explaining how she and others get in touch with the ITV show boss, Alesha said: “He [Simon] just has his PA and that’s it. That’s how he rolls. No one can get him.”
She laughed before continuing: “If I want to speak to Simon I have to message Lauren [Silverman] or his PA. He doesn’t have a phone. What a free life that is.”
Recently, Simon called for ITV to buy the Eurovision Song Contest in a bid to end the ratings clash.
A couple of weeks back, Britain’s Got Talent was forced to be rescheduled to a Sunday instead of Saturday as they couldn’t compete with the international music contest.
Speaking at the Britain’s Got Talent launch, Simon was quizzed about whether the show had a plan to beat Eurovision, to which he told Express.co.uk and other associated press: “No! Stay away!
“I love both shows and ideally obviously you wouldn’t want to be up against that. And it kind of dilutes the audience, doesn’t it?”
