Simon Cowell burst into tears as he was overcome with emotion at a charity event. The former X Factor judge, who’s known for his no-nonsense persona, attended the Together For Short Lives ball with his fiancee Lauren Silverman.
At the event Simon, 64, said he “couldn’t talk” as he became overwhelmed while encouraging people to support the charity organisation. The Britain’s Got Talent boss is a patron of the charity, which raises vital funds for palliative care for children who are fighting life-threatening conditions.
But as he encouraged punters to part ways with their cash to help the charity, Simon’s emotions got the better of him. “So, I can’t talk,” he said, speaking in a video obtained by the Daily Mail.
“So we discussed doing something slightly different previously we’ve asked people to stand up and pledge £1,000.”
The music mogul dressed smart for his outing, rocking a black suit with a white shirt, famously with several buttons undone, adding a pair of sunglasses to his striking look.
Meanwhile, his fiancee Lauren looked sensational in a sleek black gown which wrapped perfectly around her figure.
The couple, who married in 2013, are proud parents to their nine-year-old son Eric.
Lauren also shares a 17-year-old son named Adam with her ex-husband Andrew Silverman.
