Elin Nordegren’s Gracious Presence for Charlie Leaves Tiger Woods’s Absence Unnoticed at Palm Beaches
The time has finally come. Charlie Woods’ much-awaited launch in the golf world seems to be on the to-do list over the coming days. The scratch golfer is on his way to registering his name in the books of history with his possible early launch at the Cognizant Classic. But the only missing piece in his otherwise almost perfectly painted picture of a Cognizant Classic dream seems to be his father, Tiger Woods, because of his ongoing health-related hiatus.
However, Charlie Woods and his carpe diem mindset seem to be unstoppable. With his eyes set straight on the prize and his mother, Elin Nordegren, on his side at the Lost Lake Golf Club in Florida, Junior Woods is currently exceeding expectations, with a sharp score of 1 over through four holes. As per the available information, Charlie arrived at the venue with his mother an hour before his 7:39 am ET tee-off. He was the first player on the putting green.
The presence of his mother and his friend JJ as his bagman seems to be working in the 15-year-old’s favor; so much so that his performance so far has even taken the spotlight off of the fact that Senior Woods is not on the greens with him on this special occasion. But how is that even possible?
How has Tiger Woods’s absence fared out for his son?
Thankfully for Charlie Woods, his father’s sickness with influenza has not left him alone on his big day. With his mother, Elin Nordegren, in attendance, the familial support aspect seems to have been taken care of.
Woods’s ex-wife and the mother of his children was spotted walking with the group at Lost Lake, where her son is taking his first step toward a formal career in golf. If the son of the 82-time PGAT star manages to finish the Cognizant Classic Pre-Qualifying round in the top five positions and ties, he would be eligible to move to Monday’s open qualifier.
