Sharing His Passion With Michael Jordan and Larry Bird, Stephen Curry Speaks on “The Battle Between the Ears” While Playing Golf: “Scratches That Competitive Itch”

Like Michael Jordan and Larry Bird, Stephen Curry too is an avid golfer. If Curry is not sinking long-range bombs on the hardwood floor, there is a good chance that the four-time NBA champion is sinking golf balls on the course. Like many of the greats who have blessed the game of basketball, Curry too shares the same competitive spirit. And that often translates to the golf course as well.

So, when asked about the similarities between golf and basketball, this is what Curry had to say.

Stephen Curry shares the same love for golf as Michael Jordan

His Airness and Larry Legend have both enjoyed spending off-time on the golf course, perfecting their drives. From Charles Barkley to Golden State Warriors‘ Klay Thompson, many NBA players have taken up this hobby. Steph was no different. Recently, the All-Star point guard sat down for a revealing interview. Curry and sports anchor Nick Camino talked about multiple things pertaining to both golf and basketball. During the interview, Camino asked Curry if there were similarities between golf and basketball.

o that, Curry said, “There is. For the greatest athletes, you have to win the battle between the ears.”

Curry explained that the real challenge for athletes is the mental battle. He continued, “And I know what golf is, that’s the biggest challenge in terms of all the swing thoughts that come to your head and trying to master your swing and how humbling the game is because one day you could have it and the next day it could be totally the opposite.”

Curry talks about the competitive spirit
Stephen Curry went on to talk about the competitive spirit that a professional athlete has within him, regardless of what sport he is playing. And how that would translate into other sports as well.
