LIV Golf player earnings in full as lucrative 2023 comes to an end

LIV Golf completed their first full campaign in 2023, and in that time handed out £244 million in prize money across 14 events.

It was another year completed for LIV Golf in 2023, and another year of handing out eye-watering amounts of prize money to its players. After its eight-event pilot season in 2022, the breakaway league hosted their first ever full campaign with 14 events played. As was the case in year one, all 48 players in the field came away with prize money at every event, with LIV setup continuing to host no-cut tournaments on their schedule. An extra six tournaments this time around though, ensured there was plenty more to play for in 2023.

In total the breakaway league handed out a mammoth £243 million in prize money across the campaign, and individual champion Talor Gooch was the man who took the largest share. Gooch enjoyed his most successful campaign as a pro, winning three times on the way to securing the end-of-year title.

The American claimed victories in Adelaide, Singapore and Andalucia, and each time took home a £3.2 million cheque. That was not all though, as Gooch was also paid a £14.1 million bonus for coming out on top in the individual standings across the full season.

The man who came just behind him in the money list was Ripper GC captain Cameron Smith. The former Open champion spent a number of weeks at the top of the year-long standings, before finally being pipped by Gooch at the final regular season event in Jeddah two months ago.

Smith secured two victories in 2022 on the breakaway circuit, winning in London and Bedminster in the space of three events. Despite finishing behind Gooch, who too was handed a nice runner-up bonus of £6.3 million.

He was then closely followed by Smash GC captain Brooks Koepka. It was a year to remember for the American, who won his fifth major crown at the PGA Championship in May. On the LIV Tour Koepka matched runner up Smith, having also won two titles coming in Jeddah and Orlando. Finishing third for the season also saw him add £3.1 million to his earnings.
