Despite ‘Tougher’ Confession, Family Man Andy Murray Makes His Stance Clear Amid Swirling Retirement Rumors -‘Body’s Old..’

Andy Murray is coming into the twilight of his career. He grew immensely during the mid-2010s, but a continuous bout with injuries limited his abilities. While he still plays better than many on tour, the tennis fandom has started speculating on his retirement. As the world wonders about when he will step away, Murray himself has no plans of taking a step back from the sport.

Although he hasn’t shared any final retirement plans, it is undeniable that he is edging towards it. He also realizes that, as he said, he hopes to emulate the post-retirement success of a WTA legend.

Andy Murray reveals retirement plans

Andy Murray has seen much better days than his 2023 season. The Briton used to battle with the stars constantly. But after hip surgeries and many injuries, he is not able to be at the top of the sport anymore. Regardless, he has found joy in his level. However, traveling and competing in tournaments has become mentally taxing because he has to be away from his family.

Despite all the problems in front of him, Murray said, “The body’s old but I still love it, & still loving the training & traveling. It’s a little bit tougher now being away… you’ve got a young family, which is tough. But I feel good enough to compete with the best players in the world, & I’ll keep playing until I feel like I can’t do that anymore.”
