“Not me, Michael Jordan or Larry Bird”: Awestruck Magic Johnson Goes Gaga Over Caitlin Clark After March Madness Domination

March Madness moves inches closer to the last leg of the tournament. Every year, basketball legends spot future stars during the tournament and this year’s find has been the Iowa Hawkeyes’ Caitlin Clark. The rising star recently had a special visit from a WNBA legend during her game. Now, the Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson shared his firm opinion on Clark. Moreover, he highlighted an interesting stat involving Michael Jordan and Larry Bird.

Last Sunday, Clark’s Hawkeyes clinched their spot in the final four by defeating the Louisville Cardinals. The 21-year-old rising star led the team from the front with a 41-point triple-double for a comfortable 97-83 victory. Now, the Iowa side will take on the South Carolina Gamecocks to seal their spot in the finals. Notably, Clark’s consistent performances have caught the attention of analysts and legends, as they predict a great future for her.

Ahead of the upcoming final four clash between the Hawkeyes and Gamecocks, Magic Johnson heaped praise on Caitlin Clark. He posted two tweets comparing the rising star with a WNBA legend and two NBA legends. In his first tweet, he praised the star for her unreal consistency in dropping triple-doubles. Notably, Clark dropped her 11th triple-double in last Sunday’s game. Johnson wrote, “What makes Caitlin’s 40-point triple-double so special is the fact so many player never had one, not me, Michael Jordan, or Larry Bird!”

The Lakers legend’s open praise also stands as proof that he expects Clark to make it big in the coming years. In another tweet, Magic made the massive claim of calling Clark’s basketball career the second best after WNBA legend Diana Taurasi, who won three national championships in college.
