Victoria Beckham says she hasn’t told her daughter about her breast implants: Here’s why
Victoria Beckham will not tell her daughter, Harper, about breast implants due to her own dislike of the procedure and her own regrets as she hopes the 12-year-old will learn self-love.
Now with her daughter as a preteen, she is becoming aware of her own self-image and the beauty standards imposed by society such as being thin, covering blemishes and imperfections and wearing make-up.
In a bid to combat that before Harper embraces social media and becomes exposed to the pressures of society for a younger woman, Beckham wants to instil the idea that it’s okay to have some flaws as that’s only human.
“[Yesterday Harper said,] ‘I’ve got a gap in my teeth, Mommy. And I’ve got that little mole right here,'” Beckham said to Allure. “I’m like, ‘That’s your lucky gap.’
“And Cindy Crawford is a family friend, so I said, ‘Cindy was told to remove her mole, and that mole is what makes Cindy Cindy Crawford.'”
Victoria’s self-confidence and her chest
Beckham, now 49, got rid of her own silicon additions in 2014 and is on record for describing her decision to get them as something she regrets and would not do again.
Breast surgery is not an uncommon procedure, with women using them to enhance or reduce the size of them either for cosmetic or for medical reasons and it can be problematic as society’s standards on desirability shifts all the time.
